A mostly predatory but overall opportunistic creature, it uses its flexible, bill-like lips to snag fish and other small prey. It "sees" by constantly emitting a subsonic tone for echolocation, swinging its head back and forth with its mouth constantly open. Because the swampsnapper's aural receptors are located in the back of its wide gullet, it is essentially blind while eating. Luckily, its nostrils, located at corners of its mouth, are incredibly sensitive to the pheromones secreted by its predators.
